Day Fifty-Four
Below are Jean's edits to Draft Three. I fixed them and then re-read the whole document making minor edits and formatting changes.
  • Because of the extensive changes, I’m not sure whether you still mention these texts.  I’d like you to keep them in somewhere since this was basically your lit review.
  • Was it published only in this newspaper, or was the article more widely distributed?  (I’m trying to gauge whether this one article might have had much impact. – if not, leave it out)
  • Unique means the onlyone of its kind, so you’re either unique or not.  Unique can’t be modified by especially.
  • At this point I think you’ve mentioned the resource multiple times and it’s becoming redundant. What part of this section is new?  Keep that and deleate the redundancies.

Day Fifty-Three

Today I stayed at home and fixed the Guide. I have pretty much everything I could hope to have. Although I'd like to find out who manages the Connections program. My third draft is complete! I sent it to Jean using Yousendit because the file is too large to email.

Day Fifty-Two

Today I came into the office and reread the whole thing and added in the last of Kerry's edits. Ugh, I hate reading this thing. It's so long and boring, haha.

Day Fifty-One

I was planning on sending in my final draft to Jean today, but I postponed because I'm not done working on it. She said I need to send it to her on Sunday, May 21. Today I spent all night working on the Appendix lists Kerry suggested I make.

Here's what I have left to do before Sunday:
  • Elaborate on declining program, also NE program?
  • Works Cited: Add core competencies, make sure it’s formatted correctly, and footnotes
  • Fix Guide wording, how to talk about western and NE programs?
  • Number the figures
  • Fix other Kerry edits, differentiate between fact sheet and my guide
  • Format fact sheet into document
  • Reread
I also want to send the program managers the document to review one more time.

Day Fifty

I got a ridiculous amount of work done on the Guide! I think it's almost done, although I have to think about how I want to handle the declining group. I also want to ask Kerry what she thinks would be a good way to word the titles of my figures. My document is now over 110 pages. I was supposed to hand in my final draft tomorrow, but I am going to ask Jean if I could keep it for a few more days.

Day Forty-Nine

So during the week, I sent my lit review to Jean. She said it's fine. And I asked Kerry to read my thesis. She had a lot of comments, which is great, but that means I have a lot of work to do... Today I came into the office to work on the text. Tomorrow I'm coming into the office to work on the Guide.

To do on text:
  • Ask Kerry: okay if clarify use of "front lines" in footnote? questionnaire? lower level?
  • Elaborate on declining program
  • Works Cited: Add core compentencies, make sure its formatted correctly, and footnotes
  • Get answer from AAM
  • Margins ok?
To do on guide:
  • Fix charts
  • Update info
  • Lists for appendix
  • Key findings?
  • Send to program managers
Footnote numbering will fix itself when I accept track changes.

Day Forty-Eight

Today I went through the Intro, Chapter 1, and Chapter 2. Everything looks like it's in pretty good shape.  Although I didn't get to the Conclusion. This has to be done so Kerry can review it for me. Other details to fix: footnote numbering is off, add resources to Works Cited, is top margin correct?, send lit review to Jean for comments
